How to connect and integrate your Shopify Store.

To connect your Shopify stores, follow these steps for each store:

You need to follow these steps for each shop you wish to connect:

Create New Shopify Connection

  1. Go to the Adribute app.

  2. Navigate to "Connections".

  3. Click on "Create Connection" in the top right corner.

  4. Search for the Shopify connection and select it.

  5. Fill in your subdomain (everything before ⁠myshopify.com). For example, if your store URL is ⁠"adribute-sandbox.myshopify.com", enter "adtribute-sandbox".

  6. Click on "Next".

Retrieve Access Token from Shopify

  1. Open Shopify.

  2. Go to the bottom left and click on Settings.

  3. Navigate to "Apps and Sales Channels".

  4. Click on "Develop Apps" in the top right corner.

  5. Click on "Create App". Name the App "adtribute" and assign any app developer.

  6. Click on Configure Admin API Scopes.

  7. Grant API Access for the following:

    1. read_inventory

    2. read_orders

    3. read_products

    4. read_customers

  8. Ensure all four API scopes are selected with read access.

  9. Click on Save.

  10. Click "Install App" at the top right and confirm the installation.

  11. Once installed, click on Reveal Token and copy the token.

    1. Save the token on your device for future use.

  12. Return to the Adribute app.

  13. Paste the copied token into the Access Token field and click on "Next".

Set Up Pixel Tracking Code in Shopify

  1. Copy the pixel tracking code provided by Adribute.

  2. Go back to the Shopify and navigate to Customer Events on the left.

  3. Click on Add Custom Pixel and name the pixel "adtribute".

  4. Delete any existing code in the code field and paste the copied pixel tracking code.

  5. Click on Save at the top.

  6. Configure Data Collection Settings

    1. Select Data collected does not qualify as data sale, as we do not sell data.

    2. For permissions, choose Required to track only consented user data (recommended). Alternatively, you can select Not Required, to track all data (that's your decision).

  7. Click on Save at the top again to ensure your settings are applied.

  8. Click on "Connect" in the top right corner.

  9. Check if it says "connected" for the pixel within Shopify Customer Events.

  10. Return to the Adribute app and click on "Connect".

  11. Wait for the connection to load (takes a minute). Once completed, you will see a confirmation message stating Connection added successfully.

  12. Name Your Connection. To keep track of your connections, name it after the store you have connected (e.g. adtribute-sandbox).

  13. Click on "Save".

Additional Stores

If you wish to connect additional Shopify stores, simply repeat the steps outlined above for each store.
