Create Connection in adtribute
Open the adtribute App.
Go to "Connections" and click on "Create Connection".
Search for "Meta Ads" and select it.
Name the Connection as you like, e.g. the Account Name.
Before going through Connection Process you have to confirm that you have implemented the UTM Parameters that are shown.
Note: You can also implement them after the Connection Process and just click "I did that" for now, but make sure to do it at some point of the onboarding. You don't need to save the Parameters as you can find them at any time when opening the Connection in adtribute.

Implement UTM Parameter
For Meta Ads the UTM Parameter need to be implemented on Ad Level for every Ad. So, there are two types of Ads you need to have the Parameters implemented for: Future Ads and Currently Running Ads.
Future Ads
For ads that you will create and run in the future, just make sure that you always implement the UTM Parameters under "Tracking" > "URL-Parameter" - not attached to the "Website-URL" (as seen in the screenshot below).
If you create new ads by duplicating old ones, they are implemented automatically.
Currently Running Ads
Currently running ads are all ads that are active right now and receive ad spend.
If you have any dynamic URL-Parameters implemented for past ads, we can use them as well and you don't have to change anything for your currently running ads.
If not, you have to go through this process:
In order to not lose learnings, you should not edit running ads. Therefore you have to duplicate all of the running ads and implement the UTM-Parameters like this:
Meta Ads Connection Flow
To start the connection flow simply click "Connect":
On the Fivetran page you can click "Continue".
Select "Grant User Access" and click "Authorize".
When you're logged in, you can click "Continue as [your name]" (if not, you need to login and then proceed).
Select the relevant Business Manager(s) and click "Continue" > "Save" > "Confirm".
Select all of the relevant Ad Accounts.
Select the "Historical Sync Time Frame" you need - the default setting is 3 months.
Keep the other settings as they are and click "Save & Test"
It will validate for a short while and tell you if the Connection was successful.
Complete Connection
After the successful Connection Flow it will redirect you back to the adtribute app and you can find the Meta Ads Connection within all of your Connections.
