Overview
Occasionally, connections between adtribute and your ad platforms (via Fivetran) may be interrupted. This can happen due to password changes, expired security tokens, or permission updates on the ad platform side.
When a connection breaks, data synchronization stops. This guide explains how to identify broken connections and reauthorize them to ensure your marketing data continues to flow into adtribute. This process applies to all Fivetran-managed sources.

Identifying Broken Connections
Usually, we will tell you once a connection broke as our systems alert us.
You can identify a broken connection yourself by navigating to Sources > Connections in your adtribute dashboard.
Broken connections are flagged with an exclamation mark icon (!) and a status labeled Connection broken. Follow these steps to re-establish the link between Adtribute and your ad platform.
How to reconnect
Open Connection Details
Click on the row of the broken connection. This will open a sidebar on the right side of the screen displaying the connection details and the error status.Initiate Reconnection
Click the Reconnect button in the sidebar. This will redirect you away from adtribute to a Fivetran authorization page.
Reauthorize the Account
Click reauthorize to log in to the respective ad platform (e.g. Google) if prompted. Grant the necessary permissions to allow Fivetran to access your data.Important: On the Fivetran page, the status might still display as "Authentication Succeeded." You can ignore this.
βSelect Sync Mode
Select your preferred mode to continue.
Save and Test
Click Save and Test. Fivetran will run a series of diagnostics to ensure the connection is valid.
Verify Success
Once the test is successful, you will be automatically redirected back to the Connections page in adtribute.
A success message will appear at the bottom of the screen.
The connection status will update, and the "Connection broken" alert will disappear.
Your connection will continue syncing your data now.
